Muriwai Beach - The Mecca
Alan is at home in the ‘home’ of New Zealand surfing. He has spent over 30 years living at Muriwai Beach on Auckland’s wild West Coast, much of this time was spent bringing up his two children Max & Katie. It was during this time Alan started Kiwi Surf Magazine, 1990, producing 64 issues over 12 years. In 2002 Alan hit the refresh button to start his second venture Slide Magazine, which was a more up market coffee table surfing production.

New Zealand Surf Travel
Much of Alan’s time has been spent on the road chasing the surf with many of the country’s top-rated surfers, taking photos and producing articles for his upcoming issues. Alan also has a huge library of photos going back over 35 years.

Surfline is a popular website and app for surfers that provides surf forecasts, reports, and community features. Many of Alans surf photos are showcased from his resent travels chasing the swells.
